Students who seek a greater academic challenge and who have the drive to succeed, have the option to participate in off-campus university subjects, thus gaining credit towards a university degree.
Students who elect to undertake a university course at Griffith University, Queensland University of Technology and University of Southern Queensland, may be eligible for a Guaranteed Offer of Entry to their preferred course. Students must meet all of the prerequisite conditions and achieve at least a four in their university subjects. Students may also receive up to four points towards their QCE.
Student’s opportunities to study in include:
- Griffith University Early Start to Tertiary Studies program allows high school students in either Year 11 or 12 to select from most of their first year options up to a maximum of 20 credit points.
- START QUT allows high achieving Year 12 students to choose from a range of study areas to extend their studies. Allowing one subject to be taken per semester.
- USQ Head Start program allows Year 11 and 12 students to study up to three subjects over three semesters, in a range of study areas to develop their academic skills.
