In Year 10 students study six subjects over the year. In Year 11 and 12 students study six subjects over the two year period. These subjects must be studied throughout Year 10, 11 and 12.

Pathways
In Senior Schooling, we encourage and support our students to achieve to the best of their ability enabling them to graduate with a worthwhile qualification. We provide 2 distinct pathways in the Senior Phase of Learning – Academic Pathway and Personal Pathway.
Academic Pathway (OP/ATAR) – Designed
for students who wish to study at University post Year 12.
Students study a range of Authority/General (OP/ATAR) subjects and participate in a comprehensive supporting preparation program to help them achieve the best results by the end of Year 12.
Personal Pathway (FP) – Designed for students who are seeking direct entry into TAFE or are hoping to commence a School-Based Traineeship or Apprenticeship. Year 12 Students in 2019 choosing this pathway are eligible for a Tertiary Selection Rank. This pathway is also designed for students who wish to go into the world of work on completion of Year 12. It allows students to develop the skills required to become ‘work ready’.
The majority of senior students at Browns Plains State High School work towards the achievement of their Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) by the end of Year 12. Students can login to myQCE, https://myqce.qcaa.qld.edu.au/, for more information.
SAT (School-based Apprenticeship/Traineeship)
School-based Apprenticeships/Traineeships (SATs) are part-time apprenticeships or traineeships where students use some school time to go to work and/or do the theoretical off-the-job training of their SAT. TAFE and other training provider courses
Browns Plains State High School links with outside training providers to offer opportunities for students to undertake a Certificate course in a range of interest areas while completing their senior studies in Year 12. They are: TAFE Queensland (TAFE Brisbane campuses and SkillsTech Australia) and Binnacle Training.
