School carnivals

During the school year, students participate in swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals. Age champions are awarded for students who excel in these fields.

Our school has 4 sporting houses that are named after famous sporting icons. These houses are:
Houses Surnames Colour
Bradman House A-E Blue
Fraser House F-K Green
Laver House L-R Red
Strickland House S-Z Yellow

Interschool sport
Students and coaches travel by bus to various venues across Brisbane’s South and Logan West. The sports offered are Aussie Rules, Basketball, Football, Futsal, Handball Netball, Softball, Touch, Touch Rugby League and Volleyball. These sports may differ slightly each year, according to student interest. Interschool sport is played across 8 rounds on Wednesdays, where students leave the grounds at 12:50pm and return by 2.50pm, unless the game is being held on school grounds. Students also participate in weekly training sessions held either before school, after school or during lunch-breaks throughout the season.

Students not selected to play interschool sport are involved in a Literacy and Numeracy program based participation.

Metropolitan West School Sport

Throughout the year, Metropolitan West School Sport (MWSS) offers a variety of sports to students from ages 10-19. These sports include the big 3, including Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics, with large carnivals held each year to select the strongest students in their field. In addition, MWSS also offers team and individual sports, some of which include Football, Golf, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Squash, Tennis and Water Polo. These trials are nomination only, focusing on selection to make higher representation to State and National level.
