​School carnivals

During the school year, students participate in swimming, cross country and athletics carnivals. Age champions are awarded for students who excel in these fields and provided pathways through to districts, regionals, state and nationals.

Our school has 4 sporting houses that are named after famous sporting icons and are aligned with our All Stars banner. These houses are:

Metropolitan West School Sport

Throughout the year, Metropolitan West School Sport (MWSS) offers a variety of sports to students from ages 10-19. These sports include Swimming, Cross Country and Athletics, with large carnivals held each year to select the strongest students in their field. In addition, MWSS also offers team and individual sports, some of which include Football, Golf, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Squash, Tennis and Water Polo. These trials are nomination only, focusing on selection to make higher representation to State and National level. Students first trial through Southern Scorpions District which encompasses 31 schools, successful students to represent the district team move to regional Met West trials.

All Stars Programs​

​​​Students who are dedicated to Basketball, Netball or Volleyball are invited to trial for our All Stars programs at the end of each year for the following year. Our All Stars programs aim to build the student's sporting potential in their chosen sport by providing opportunities to:

  • develop their skills to a competitive level
  • provide a positive and supportive learning environment
  • have access to personalised training and coaching
  • develop their teamwork and leadership skills
  • have access to additional expert sessions on general health, mental health, personal identity, relationships, nutrition strength and coaching and sports psychology
